Leslie Pinnow
Leslie Emil Pinnow, 85 of Papaikou, died Sept. 4, 2018, at Yukio Veteran’s Care Home. Born on Aug. 6, 1933, in Hilo, he retired from Gaspro. He was a truck driver for SK Ota Construction, Yamada &Sons, and former Mauna Kea Sugar Co. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
Mass to be held 10 a.m. Sept. 14 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Visitation begins at 8 a.m.
He is survived by his spouse, Norma Pinnow of Papaikou; sons, Nathan (Geri) Pinnow of Ewa Beach, Eric Pinnow of Papaikou, Mark (Lyndell) Pinnow of Papaikou; brothers, James (Jane) Lawrence of Hilo; brother, Harold (Tommie) Pinnow of Hilo; one sister-in-law; six grandchildren, numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Richard Paglinawan, Sr.
Richard Paglinawan, Sr., 77, of Hilo, died Aug. 21, 2018, at home. Born Sept. 18, 1940, in Hilo, he was a Navy veteran, retired DOE, formerly employed by Hawaiian Airlines, and member of the Elks Club and N.R.A.
Mass services to be held at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 21 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation begins at 8 a.m. Burial to follow at noon at Veteran’s Cemetery No. 2.
Richard is survived by daughters, Deborah Lee Meers-Paglinawan, Angelina (Daniel David Pavao) Paglinawan, Faith (Clyde Jr.) Agres, Maria Teresa (Roymonty Jr.) Kalili; sons, Richard (Darci Agres) Paglinawan Jr., Christopher (Jill) Paglinawan of Hilo; brothers, Sam Paglinawan of Hilo, Albert Paglinawan of Oahu, Francis Duran of Oahu; sisters, Thelma Labuen of California, Venancia Mun of Oahu, Tita Anne Duran-Raymond of Oahu; 32 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
